The Full Moon Party in Thailand has become another popular and is recognized by groups of tourists visiting Thailand. The place where it is celebrated is located in Surathani, known as the paradise in the south of Thailand. This celebration is held on Phangan Island, which is popular because it is possible to see the moon clearly in the night sky.
Everyone celebrates with parties to celebrate the full moon every month. This party is attended by10 000-30 000 visitors each month on the date as indicated on the annual calendar.
Many tourists, of both
sexes, enjoy watching the young people celebrating on the beach. Much drink is
consumed and loud music can be heard across the island. People paint their
faces that glow in the moonlight. Other activities during the celebration
include fire performers, dancing and a variety of games held on the beach.
Swimming is also a
popular activity but tourists are warned about the poisonous jellyfish which
can cause injuries. First-aides and administrative officers are there to offer
treatment or assistance to any who need it. Many travelers enjoy a quiet walk
along the beach. The party begins at sunset and continues throughout the night
till sunrise.
There is free access to Thai citizens and foreigners will only pay 100 baht.
